| my internet is dying a slow and painful death. i can't get on LJ or yahoo mail, so i can't work on my history day bibliography or waste time reading journals when I should be working on my history day bib. woe. such woe. | | |
| I interrupt your regularly scheduled lack of posts to say: Boys make me sad.
Okay, carry on... | | |
| Well well well, I don't think anyone reads this fine xanga anymore, considering the (very) few times I've posted in the last few months haven't generated much comment-ness. Even so, I'm back to plug freeipods.com again. Why? Because it's AWESOME. Okay? okay.
Info:
The way this site works is that you sign up for an offer with a company like BMG music service, Blockbuster online, Video Professor, etc. Then you find five other people to do the same thing. That’s it. After you do all that, they send you an ipod mini or a 20 gig ipod. The coolest thing is that with some of the offers, you can cancel before you’re charged and still get credit for them.
I know it sounds like a scam, but here's how freeipods.com works. It's run by a company called Gratis Internet. They work with various companies trying to get people to buy their products. Each time someone signs up for a company's offer through freeipods.com, Gratis internet makes money. Since most people never complete the process of getting a free ipod (even though it's easy enough to do), they can afford to give out a free ipod to those who do.
Here's some proof that this site is for real: Wired magazine published an article on its legitimacy here- http://www.wired.com/news/mac/0,2125,64614,00.html.
Also, there are plenty of people out there who have gotten their ipods and written about it. The girl who I signed up under recently received her ipod. Here’s a link to her site with photos of the ipod- http://www.sevenfifteen.net/entries/2004/12/so_you_remember.html
Here's another site of photos from someone who recieved a free ipod from the site: http://www.free-ipods.info/process.html
This is a really cool offer, and its pretty easy to do. You can get five of your friends to sign up, or anyone you know really. If you’re interested, go here!
Thanks for reading, everyone! If you have any questions/concerns, feel free to email me at catastrophewaitress07@yahoo.com, or just leave a comment here.

| Merry Christmas, peope of xanga!!
(if you don't celebrate christmas, consider this a very belated hanukkah greeting) | | |
| Okay, so here's the deal. I'm trying to replace my (probably) stolen ipod. For free. I'm using freeipods.com. How this website works is that you have to sign up for an offer (things like blockbuster online, real music service, video software, etc.) and then get five other people to do the same thing. Then you get a free ipod. It's really simple, and it's also cool because if you sign up for an offer, you just have to wait until you're credited, and then you can cancel the offer before you're asked to pay anything at all. Plus, once you sign up for one of the offers for me, you can start the process of getting your own free ipod.
This is a real offer. They actually will send you the ipod. I know of people who have gotten them. Also, here's an article in wired magazine about how the whole thing isn't a scam. It seems like it would be, but if you think about all the people who sign up and then never find five people, well, they make a lot of money off of those people- enough so they can pay for an ipod when someone actually does get to five.
If you want to do something nice (but cheap!) for me for christmas, you can help me out here. By signing up for the Video Professor offer (the same one I did), you're charged $7, but my account is credited right away. Otherwise you can sign up for one of the free offers, and I'll be credited in a couple of weeks. Either way, let me know if you do sign up so I can keep track of how many people I have.
